Treatwell is a marketplace that takes a big share of the first booking from each new client. Bookr is booking software that takes no commission. Which one you need depends on where your clients come from.
Treatwell earns its commission when it really does find you a client. For a new salon with an empty diary, that can be money well spent.
Once your book is full of regulars and people who found you on Instagram, it stops making sense. Bookr takes no commission on any booking, and your page never shows your clients another salon.

You're new and need clients more than margin. A busy marketplace can fill a quiet diary.
Your clients already browse Treatwell to find salons near them.
You want the reach of a big brand and accept the commission as the cost of it.
You need to take cash. Bookr is card-only.
Your clients already know you. Regulars, word of mouth, Instagram. No commission on any of them.
You want the page to be yours. Bookr never shows your clients another business.
You want to start at £0. The Starter plan is free with no time limit and no card needed.
Your clients shouldn't need an account. They open your link, pick a time and pay.
It depends where your clients come from. If most of them are regulars or find you on social media, Bookr usually works out cheaper because there's no commission. If you rely on Treatwell to find new clients, Treatwell may be worth what it costs.
No. Bookr has no marketplace or directory. You share your own link, on Instagram, Google, your website or your shop window.
Add your services and hours in the app, then swap the link in your Instagram bio and on Google. Most people have their page up in an afternoon. You can run both side by side for a week while regulars move over.
Not yet. Reminders go by email, 24 hours before and again 2 hours before. Text reminders aren't live, and we would rather say so than let you find out later.
No. Bookr is card-only, and clients pay when they book. If a lot of your clients pay cash at the chair or on the doorstep, Bookr probably isn't the right fit.
