Where Bookr wins
No marketplace commission on new clients. Free tier with no time limit. Card processing passed straight from Stripe — we don't mark it up. Cheaper monthly than Squire or Booksy from day 1.
Where we don't
Setmore is cheaper at £7/user. Square is free for sole traders. We charge a 2.5% Buyer Protection Fee that the customer sees at checkout — we show it openly rather than hiding it in markup.
Common questions
Three things come off every booking: (1) a flat 2.5% Buyer Protection Fee added to the customer's bill at checkout (same on every plan, non-refundable — how it works); (2) Stripe processing — 1.5% + 20p — out of the customer's total; (3) your plan fee: 4% Starter, 3.5% Duo, 3% Studio, 2.5% Shop, 2% Chain. On a £100 service on Starter: customer pays £102.50, Stripe £1.74, Bookr £4.10, you receive £96.66. Higher plans = less you give up.
Payouts run on Stripe's standard 2-day rolling schedule. Money from bookings hits your bank within 2 working days of the service taking place. Once Stripe verifies your account (KYC), you can change the payout schedule to weekly or monthly from your Stripe dashboard.
Yes — every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial. No card required to start. If you don't upgrade, your account drops back to Starter automatically and your data stays put.
Yes, any time. Upgrades are prorated to the day, downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You won't lose any of your bookings, customers, or data when changing plans.
You decide. Refunds are issued from your dashboard in one click. Stripe's processing fee is non-refundable (Stripe keeps the 1.5% + 20p). The 2.5% Buyer Protection Fee is also non-refundable — that fee covers customer protection regardless of the booking outcome. Your plan fee is refunded automatically if you refund the customer in full.
You keep the money. Customers pay upfront when they book, so a no-show is still a paid booking. You can set your own cancellation policy — for example, "free cancellation up to 24 hours before; otherwise non-refundable" — and customers see it at checkout.
Yes. Like any platform that handles payments, Stripe requires KYC (Know Your Customer) verification before you can receive payouts. Usually takes 5 minutes — passport or driving licence, bank details, business address. We don't see your ID documents; Stripe handles all of that.
Right now Bookr is UK-only and runs in GBP (£). EU and US support is on the roadmap — drop us a line at contact if you'd like to be notified.
Migration help available — contact us at hello@mybookr.app and we'll move your data across from any platform during onboarding.
Yes — Chain plan supports custom domains, so your booking page lives at book.yourbusiness.com instead of mybookr.app/yourname. Lower plans use your free Bookr handle.
Yes. No contracts, no notice period. Cancel from your dashboard and you're done — you keep all your data and can export it as CSV. Your booking page goes offline at the end of the current billing period.
No. Customers can book as guests with just an email — they get a confirmation, a reminder, and a link to their booking. They can optionally create a free account to see all their bookings in one place, reschedule in one click, and store payment details for faster checkout.
All data is stored encrypted in EU data centres (Supabase / AWS Frankfurt). We're UK GDPR compliant. You can export your full data — bookings, customers, services — as CSV from your dashboard at any time. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
Chain plan supports running multiple businesses from a single Bookr account — separate booking pages, separate Stripe accounts, separate calendars, one login. Each business gets its own handle and independent settings.
